Daily Routine Cleaning Checklist for Your Workplace

27 July 2018

Walking into a clean work environment can be uplifting in a way that you won’t notice until it is gone. The truth is simple, studies have shown that a clean workplace can lead to a happier roster of employees and a more efficient and effective job performance. While it is easy to say that our workplace should be clean, it is significantly harder to turn that thought into an actionable outcome. Today, we are going to outline a daily routine cleaning checklist that should set your company on the right path toward keeping your building clean, your employees happy, and your customers ready to purchase.

Daily Routine Cleaning Checklist

When you walk into an office or workplace, you are going to notice several different sections of the building first. You’ll notice the floor, the windows, and the bathroom. With these three points of focus in our minds, we can begin to put together an effective daily routine cleaning checklist for your workplace. Whether you work in real estate or accounting, the following tips will help you to keep your business clean.

  1. Focus on Your Bathrooms – Your bathrooms need to be clean, period. There is no business around that should be content with a dirty bathroom. This means that every day, you need to have the bathroom mopped, the toilets scrubbed, and the countertops cleaned. Nobody likes using a dirty bathroom, least of all your employees and visitors.
  2. Attend to Your Flooring – Whether you have carpet or concrete, the goal should be the same: to have clean floors that you can be proud of. Your floors should constantly be swept, vacuumed and steam cleaned when appropriate. If you have concrete flooring, such as in a warehouse, consider having that flooring power washed on occasion. Carpets, on the other hand, need to be routinely attended to as they can collect smells, debris, and degradation if they are ignored.
  3. Clean Your Windows – Before the first customer arrives, your windows need to be cleaned. Windows should be free from smudges, dust, and any other weather-related wear and tear. With sparkling, clear windows on your side, you’ll be making a lasting, and positive, impression on your visitors.
  4. Landscape Your Exterior – Curb appeal is an important aspect of your business. If your yard is unruly and cluttered, customers and employees alike will loathe coming to your building. Hire a professional crew to make sure that your yard is mowed, tended to, and properly landscaped throughout every season. With a great yard on your side, your company will reflect well.
